Oxford charges a fee of £75 for graduate applications. Many of us here feel that this is unjustified, and that it's a barrier to fair access. The resolution below will be debated in Congregation (Oxford's 'parliament') on 10 March at 2 pm: please share this with anyone relevant.

Excited to present my recent work this evening. Early embryonic explants from zebrafish pattern themselves in the absence of yolk geometry and signalling - Trying to communicate our findings to anyone who wants to come along!

Gem of a sentence; the author was indeed true to his word. Found in S. Smale, Morse Inequalities for a Dynamical System, Bull. Amer. Math. Soc. Vol 66, 1 (1960), 43-49.

Check out our new pre-print! We performed a quantitative dissection of hunchback regulation by Bicoid and Zelda in the fly embryo and showed that these transcription factors catalyze chromatin accessibility and transcriptional onset.

Superb talk today from on how tissue tectonics integrates gene and morphogenetic landscapes in early vertebrate embryogenesis. Great combination of neoclassical embryology and pescoids

This is where I learned that the best developmental biologists are not 'mouse people', 'fly people', 'worm people', etc and that your organism of choice should be defined by your question. Apply. It's transformative.

Congrats on appointment as Embryology co-Director! I agree whole-heartedly with Berta though- Rich was nothing but inspirational and supportive throughout the Summer of 2017 when we were students.

This is a great course that opened infinite doors for me, I can totally recommend it. Good luck to the new director pair. Sad to hear Rich Schneider won't be directing the course anymore. He was excellent as a director in 2017 when I was there, really inspiring and supportive!

watch this. please. I watched it first time round, I watched it again now. The analysis is clear and conclusions are simple. It isn't far left ideology, it's about basic social justice and social cohesion. Thanks for saying the truth and putting it so bluntly.

Wait a second. Looking at this recent paper I cannot escape the feeling that I read about this before. Yes, Leah Herrgen & co. 2010: Not cited? I think these two pieces of work deserve some 'delayed coupling'.

This week, I watched with morbid fascination as an mob descended on a colleague who had made a glib, condescending & easy-to-misunderstand remark online. This video about cancel culture helped me to understand what happened: .
