These are frightening and unprecedented times. We have a president who is not only a pathological liar, but someone who is trying to win votes by dividing our nation up based on the color of our skin, our country of origin, our religion, our gender or our sexual orientation.

If reelected, you can be sure that I will continue to be the fiercest opponent in the Senate to the rightwing extremism of Trump and the Republican leadership.

But being anti-Trump and anti-Republican is not enough. We need to continue our fight for a progressive agenda which will take on oligarchy, and improve the lives of working people throughout our country.

It is my intention to run a strong grassroots campaign throughout Vermont and I look forward to your support.

But today, I wanted to let you know that it was my intention to run again for the Senate, and to ask if you could help us reach some modest fundraising goals we need to fund this grassroots campaign. You can do that here:https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bernie-reelect?refcode=tw180521-re-elect …

That is terrible news, Senator. You've been in the Senate too long and your values have never been accepted by the majority of Americans. I urge you to reconsider and do not run again. Please stay home and disappear.
-
yea, right, that's why the polls show he is the most popular politician in the entire country lmao give me a break

Will you be switching your party designation from independent to Democrat?
-
Why would he? He's already won his seat as an independent, there's no need to appeal to the corrupt partisan duopoly.
-
Exactly. Why feed from the hand that bit you? I hope he runs as an Independent and monkeywrenches 2-party tribalism.
-
Bit him? It’s his fault we have the idiot we have in the White House. If he had coalesced behind the Democrat candidate, we would not be in this mess.
-
I place the blame squarely on the shoulders of

Shocking news .. NOT. Term limits are needed more than ever .. things will never change unless the people in Washington change .. meaning both sides of the aisle.
-
We have term limits. They're called elections. If his constituents want him gone, they will vote for someone else. Problem solved.
-
Yes! Those who get what elections are for, please retweet. It's the ultimate term limit. Do what you're elected for or get limited, pronto!
-
In today's political environment, elections are not term limits. The system is rigged for the incumbent to win .. of the 25 longest serving senators, most have occurred in the last 40 years .. this is not what the Founding Fathers had in mind ..
-
Which ones are you referring to? John Adams thought presidents ought to serve for life. If they didn’t want this, they would’ve specified otherwise.
-
Uh let's see .. maybe Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe ..
-
My point being that the founding fathers are not an entirely collectivist group, and each had their own opinions on things. Even presidential term limits weren’t a thing until after Republicans were salty over FDR winning 4 times. If they agreed, they would’ve written it to start
