The Sanders' left played no role in the Jones victory. In fact, the Sanders' appointees to the URC and #OurRevolutin worked against the dem party and continue to do so even after this historic victory. 1/

The folks over at
#OurRevolution refused to endorse Jones. Zogby and Turner are saying that last night's victory was nothing to celebrate.@SenSanders did not mention the Alabama election on his twitter feed over the last week 2/ -
Anyone dissing the man who brought the Birmingham church bombers to justice has no idea what "progressive" means. Jones put his life on the line for that. Don't see Bern risking a damned thing.

Fascinating how you diminished and dismissed her wins and you were willing to abandon the “deep south”pic.twitter.com/mhc5wBNtqM
-
He thought he could just abandon the voters, the Black voters in the south and move on, now he is trying to claim they are part of his revolution.
-
But they made clear in 2016 that they weren't claiming *him*. Now he's trying to crawl back after bending over backwards to appeal to Trumpsters. We see BS for who he is. The ship he's trying to catch has long since sailed without him.

i saw Cory Booker helping Jones. i Saw
@Alyssa_Milano . i saw that Obama did a robocall. i saw Hillary inspiring people to get out the vote. -
oh and another thing could you tell your followers to stop trying to get Joy Reid fired.
-
Joy is the only journalist whom I (and my extended family) trust. Chuck Todd's wife worked for Sanders (frequent guest on MTP). Mika & Joe...ebb and flow. Kornacki REFUSED to let anyone discuss Russian interference. Maddow was giddy when it came to Sanders. LIBERAL media?

You might have mentioned that Doug Jones was a great candidate and his campaign worked diligently to GOTV. It would have been especially nice for you to mention this BEFORE the election.https://twitter.com/scottdetrow/status/930492411742183424 …
-
BTW, touting Doug Jones as a placeholder against bad policy doesn't count.https://twitter.com/BernieSanders/status/940621174396084224 …
-
That is exactly what Doug Jones is. He stopped an incredibly harmful man from being elected while offering nothing concrete policy-wise to Alabamans. Why is this such a difficult concept to grasp? It's great that he won, but what programs & specific strategies does he offer?pic.twitter.com/24C91DnFdM
-
Did you follow the Jones campaign? Search "Kitchen Table Issues." But I'm beginning to wonder if this is really about whether or not Jones was a good candidate?
-
I did - I pushed heavily for him to win, dissected his campaign website & literature for people to see a bunch of times. The rhetoric was very good. But there wasn't much in the way of specifics. I'm just apprehensive & care a lot about Alabamans. Grew up poor myself. Hits home.
-
I'm glad you looked into that. I'm not sure any candidate can offer specifics when they're running for a new position? I understand about growing up poor - I did, too. So yeah, it's personal.
-
People definitely want specifics. Especially specifics dealing with their cities & rural areas. It's insulting to people who have felt left behind to have a politician glaze over their situation & not address it openly & candidly. That's definitely universal.
-
Like when a musician goes on tour and says that every crowd is the best crowd they've ever played for, each time. Kind of loses its meaning, and people notice when they're being fed a line.

#BernieSanders now thinks that#DougJones is an avatar of his “Revolution”, and heaps praise on black voters. Okay. Do you remember how#OurRevolution dismissed Jones because he failed to share every single one of their positions? |1https://twitter.com/BernieSanders/status/941029941797359616 …

Do you remember how Southern primaries didn’t count in
#Bernie’s battle with#Hillary? Do you remember how the black voters who favored#Hillary were dismissed because they came from red states? |2#dougjones#berniesanders#alsen -
Did you notice
#Bernie tying#DougJones to his narrow agenda, and Jones’ victory to that agenda? Do you notice how, on a day#Trump took a big loss, Bernie must highlight the defeat of an “establishment”#Democrat — and pretend that#RandallWoodfin is -his- guy? |3#alsen -
The
#BernieSanders world is a strange one. Every victory is because of#Bernie-ism. Every loss is because people fell short of Bernie-ism. Bernie-ism is never wrong. Actually, that’s not so strange. We’ve seen it before. |4#dougjones#alsen -
This is Bernie Sanders' narrow agenda. A.K.A. the agenda that most every person in the world strives for, because it's in line with basic human rights. Maybe ease off the spite & do a little self-reflection on why you're dissing the most popular politician in the U.S.pic.twitter.com/2twL3WYxQA
-
You're a geography Ph.D, so I assume you're detail-oriented. Look closely at this statement again, and ask yourself "Does Bernie mention himself? Or is he talking about a newly-energized public, especially those minorities who have for so long been ignored, finally stepping up?"pic.twitter.com/cV6K0eCYtj
-
I also invite you to look into the order in which the 2015 primaries were held, and the level of national recognition the progressive platform Sanders was offering had as time went on.https://twitter.com/ot_ford/status/941078605840257024 …
-
You may find, if you are diligent and not dismissive, that deeply southern states' primaries were held early on, where Hillary's moderate/centrist/conservative history were popular. The order was purposeful to give her an advantage against more progressive unknowns.
