Simply withheld his endorsement. Hard to say 'should' bc he was always on record he would support her if he lost.

And what's your guess of the result if he had withheld endorsement?

He could've gotten her to more sincerely adopt more of his program to win those voters back.

Candidates have zero incentive to respond to your concerns if they know they can count on your support anyway.

Leaving judgment of Sanders out of it, still true if you lose it's bc you didn't convince enough ppl to vote for you, period.
