Walmart's CEO made 1,076 times their median employee last year. The Walton family makes $25,000 a minute. Don't tell me that they can't afford to pay a living wage. They choose not to out of greed. And together, that's the kind of greed we're going to end.

No one was going to arrest you for saying "Merry Christmas". The push for "Happy Holidays" is to respect the diversity of religion, beliefs, and practices in the US. That very diversity is what made the US great, as citizens we should encourage and support it, not push it away.

A job pays what it takes to get the job done. As all the automated cash lanes go to show, be careful how you price your labor out of the market. Artificial floors for the cost of labor enhance the drive toward automation.

Automation is happening regardless, even with the current low minimum wage. Let automation happen, but tax businesses so that the benefits of automation are socialized instead of privatized.

Nobody works hard enough to earn $25k a minute. Let’s be real. The government (us taxpayers) should not have to subsidize the employees of Walmart because they don’t make a living wage when the founders make $25k a minute.
