Define it first.

It’s always important to first argue over semantics before ever actually doing anything to address gun violence.
-
When "semantics" runs the risk of infringing upon one's constitutional rights, it is rather important.
-
The Constitution does not protect the ownership of assault weapons as they are weapons of war.
-
That’s the reason WHY they’re protected by the 2nd amendment. Also every weapon is a weapon of war.
-
A baseball bat is just as much of an assault weapon as an ak-47. But guns aren’t the problem. People are. Switzerland by law makes every household have a gun. Colorado almost everyone has a gun. both have very low crime rates. But Chicago where all guns are banned is opposite.
-
Yeah but imagine someone trying to kill 400 people with a baseball bat
-
It would be a lot easier if you take guns out of the situation. And that’s what they are trying to do. Since it’s one of the inalienable rights we have to willing give it up. That’s why the media is twisting the conversation so heavily.

Agree. Why do Americans like guns so much?
-
It's called the 2nd amendment of our constitution. So we can protect ourselves from tyrannical governments
-
The U.S. absolutely needs its guns to protect themselves from the government. Have you seen what’s happening in Australia with their gun ban?! Outrageous!!
-
Yeah nothing.

That doesn’t deal with the problem. Why are these kids thinking like this? Where are the resources, mentors, teachers, coaches and how come they are held accountable for not intervening in the humans depression and anger that leads to these thoughts.

I don't know man. Canada has a ban on assault rifles and we have MUCH MUCH LESS MASS SHOOTINGS! I agree that what you stated needs improving. But still, banning assault weapons will also help considerably! Also trump is against social services of the calibre you're stating.
-
Plenty of “weapons” on the streets of America that aren’t assault and can do plenty of damage. Assault weapons ban was already in place under Clinton - Clinton era (columbine) but one of the worst shootings at Virginia tech was with two handguns. Minds are the issue needing attn

Right- we should be having that discussion.
