No, I can't. Because I pay way too much of a percentage of my income to rent a small room in a place with 5 others in the same boat. And I'm not even a millennial underwater in school debt. I'm debt free GenX, as are half the roomies, but STILL one emergency away from homeless.

Feed others? Frequently. Those of us closest to the ground can see the dirt that others feel they're above addressing beyond letters to the editor or city hall. How many are you currently housing and feeding again?

Upfront cost is only one part of this. How much will the tax payers save by not dealing with the effects of homelessness? You have to deduct that value from the upfront cost.
