Why do people continue to work after they've secured enough money to retire to a one room shack and survive off beans? Could it be that people want more from life then the bare minimum it takes to survive?

Then having to go to work or doing community service should be mandatory. Real measurable community service when you get welfare and don't have a job. Then those people can see how hard people have to work for what they have.
