Canceling all student debt will not only help those with student loans. It will help all of us — by boosting our economy by $1 trillion over the next 10 years and creating up to 1.5 million new jobs every year.

Best way to cancel it is to eliminate higher education altogether. We need college football without the college. An hour in the weight room is more valuable than a lifetime in the classroom

I agree the banks are screwing students, but that doesn't mean it should be free. Why not make legislation so loans are fixed at a zero percent or very low interest rate? Everything has a cost.

Banks are not involved. Our wonderful *govt* controls the student loan program. I agree that these loans should be at zero or 1%.

so your position is that since you had it hard, we should also make sure everyone for the rest of time has it just as hard instead of improving things for them?

it would unleash an EXPLOSION of economic spending by an entire generation. The banks will turn those student loans into new mortgages and business loans.

It seems like Mr. Sanders thinks it will only bring in $1 trillion over ten years (average $100 billion/year) but will cost $1.6 trillion to get that. It seems more like unleashing an IMPLOSION on the economy.
