It's in the bill of rights. Solitary confinement is both cruel and unusual punishment.

Spot on. Too many times the ends justify the means is employed. FYI @SaveManning was tortured in that fashion under Obama & still being abused under Trump. I hope someone can get the candidate to speak about it in the next debates.

Wrong. It helps prevent the dangerous inmates you don't want to execute from killing again.

I would also like to know what he plans to replace it with. Its going to be difficult to punish someone who has been sentenced to a life behind bars, who keeps on committing crimes, including assaulting and murdering other inmates while they're serving their sentence

Solitary is actually an option often chosen by inmates who don’t feel safe mingling with others. It can actually save lives.
