Bad life decisions?

The biggest employers in this country are retailers and fast food restaurants that pay an average of $11 an hour. Wake the fuck up. Even if everyone got a master's degree most would still be forced to work these jobs. There's not enough salaried positions for everyone.
-
Exactly!
-
Automation. It only gets worse in the future.

Wages haven't gone up for inflation or productivity This means people are working more, earning less and the amount they earn buys less than it did years ago This means people must make tough decisions between bills, rent, even food This is unsustainable We need a damn raise
-
There is an enormous vacuum that sucks trillions of dollars from our economy. The money goes behind a curtain and is dispersed and earmarked for any number of whimsical programs. Some of it might make it back to the state it came from, though typically to selected camps.
-
The solution to low wages and a depressed economy is to bring transparency to where the money goes, and thusly a greatly diminished amount of money taken from the public for wasteful support for the plutocracy. Our economy can't sustain the oligarchy AND centralized relief.
-
somehow these ideas are so complex that most politicians just can't think of them...
-
That, and if you rob Peter to pay politicians you can always count on the politicians for support.

It’s a mixture of high rent and people over spending and not learning how to budget. I’ve seen some people claim they’re broke yet they have a new purse and an Apple Watch.
-
Guys, he said SOME people. I've seen members of my family go crazy over the fact that they have no money but then they go buy a huge flat screen TV. It's hard to be disciplined with money sometimes, especially when you barely have any.
-
All the discipline in the world won't pay for food when mean one bedroom rent is 1600 and hourly wage is 11$ per hour . With approx 200 hundred working hours in a month (based on 40hour week) , minus tax, means rent alone takes full pay check
-
Oh yeah, I agree that the minimum wage is no living wage and that too many hard working people in the country aren't payed enough, however it's also hard to use the money you earn for only necessities at all times.

I am FINALLY able to AFFORD to work after 10 years as a stay-at-home mom to three kids. Monthly Childcare for three is more than I would have been paid.
-
Childcare is expensive. You have to think about the cost before you have kids.
-
People do. Thats why we have massive declining birth rates. We can't keep blaming the individual in system a few individuals are making worse for everyone but themselves.
-
People who are financially responsible think about whether or not they can afford a child.
-
Right wingers: Don't have children if you can't afford it. Also right wingers: White people will be a minority in the future! You can decide whether to help Americas, to help immigrants or to help both. Yet you choose to help neither, and an old population can't sustain itself.
-
I don't think this is a partisan issue. The entire western world has declining birth rates to the point where they're irreversible. It's a fact that financially responsible people are waiting longer to have kids, having only 1 kid or non at all.
-
Yeah the first sentence is not "partisan" in the USA, since both parties are considered right wing according to almost any other country on Earth. Left wing parties in Europe try to help families instead of just telling them they shouldn't have children when they can't afford it
-
You should not have kids if you cannot afford it. I'm not saying that we should not help the ones here. I'm saying that people need to be fiscally responsible and take birth control if they cannot afford a baby.
