And $15 is still a starvation wage in places like NYC. Make it $22.50 at least.

Or maybe just have UBI or else you’ll crush small businesses and just increase automation
#YangGang -
A UBI is garbage if the federal minimum wage is still $7.25
-
Can I ask what makes it trash? Arguably a UBI helps more people because it’s distributed to everyone, not just those with jobs. Likewise it doesn’t exclude anyone or scale in anyway, so even those with jobs receive the full amount

-
And it’s basically $6/ hour (tax free) for 40 hours per week, every week, no strings attached. No unpaid leave, no job insecurity. I agree the federal minimum wage is far too low, but increasing doesn’t solve all of the problem
-
I agree that raising the minimum wage doesn't fix all the problems, and I am open to supporting a UBI, just not the one Andrew Yang is proposing.
-
How would you like it to be structured?
-
I would like it if it stacked with welfare programs. Yang said he would make the Freedom Dividend opt-in. He said people will have to choose between the Dividend and the welfare programs, meaning people on welfare programs don't get as much help from his UBI as others would.

I’m a retired Comptroller of a DOD Field Activity - the Fed Govt mandates that Fed contractors pay their employees AT LEAST the prevailing rates for that area - NOT ‘starvation wages’ But you know that don’t you? My view: You’re an Ends Justify Means Liar trying to dupe Voters

I have to agree! There’s a reason I support you for President!
@donnaimamTX volunteered for your campaign but didn’t get to meet you. Now she’s running for Congress to pass#RealPayForAll so that corporations have to pay a thriving wage to the people who create their wealth.pic.twitter.com/8rHAhoV4bb

Sir do you think small Mom and Pops businesses will be able to afford $15 wage? Also won't you push corporate to further cut down hours and move toward automation? This will do more destruction then good. What is the point if employee get $15 but no hours or overtime?
-
You know, interestingly enough, cities that have already done that raise have found very little in loss of jobs AND hours worked. Small businesses can handle it
-
I live in New York, and seen consequences myself. Low performer are getting phased out, and employees are getting shorter shifts and cut on slow days. Businesses hiring a lot because employee retention is very low due to this practices and they don't need to pay Overtime.

Depends what your idea of starvation wages is. These days people want the job and the pay on their terms and their terms only. Some will work for it as many of us had and for the rest will choose socialist Bernie.

I support a lot of your policies and perspectives and have for years. What I don't support is the culture of open hostility that seems baked in within your campaign. A lot of your most agressive supporters are as demeaning as tRump's just with a different lead in.
-
Exactly. You nailed it.

Have you checked out the
#YangGang? In my experience it’s been the most polite and respectful crowd I have seen personally. Happy to be apart of it

I have a couple of preferred candidates, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and Joe Biden. I could live with Elizabeth Warren but not enamored. Yang is a good man but I just don’t find him a credible President. I have some of the same concerns with Buttigieg.
