But let’s talk about the labor movement, education & what’s possible when we elect
@SenSanders! People may think I’m a single issue activist, as I focus on#M4A, but I’ve studied Body Psych & I believe a whole different world is possible. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wfec6eF4I_4 …#Bernie2020pic.twitter.com/pqMadrrSvD

District run public schools also break their promises to students with disabilities. Many don’t follow IEPs, thereby denying FAPE to these kids, & breaching IDEA/504/EndrewF. Will you also be doing a video about that?
@moms4FAPE -
Certainly every child deserves FAPE. When will parents band together to demand full funding for Special Education? Schools are often doing their best with inadequate resources.
-
Kids with disabilities are being failed in even the most well-funded, affluent, A rated districts. Following an IEP costs little. If an IEP says a child gets preferential seating, for example, how much does that cost? Yet provisions like this are often not followed.
@twiggyboty -
Even a seemingly simple thing takes resources. Especially documenting compliance. I’m not arguing that schools are never at fault. I’m saying that lawsuits are a terribly inefficient way to improve a child’s education.
-
There’s a disparity in how different classes of kids are treated. Do you know in some affluent areas, there are massive numbers of kids certified “gifted” as parents abuse the process. Those kids get a lot of funding. See this excerpt from “Daisy Has Autism” by

I agree that more resources are needed. But why don’t the parents of children with disabilities band together? Why don’t they write to legislators demanding better? Why don’t they join together and attend a school board meeting?
-
We’ve done all of that to no avail. Follow
@moms4FAPE and you will see. We are a group of nationwide moms who are committed to ensuring that each child with a disability gets FAPE under IDEA/504 & that schools comply. The ACLU, political candidates, nobody is answering us.

I am
with Bernie. But I work for Charter Schools. They’re not evil. I often hear students and parents say, “this is the only school that has ever cared about me.” Or “we’ve tried everything and this is the only school that worked.” Charter schools are not bad. -
I think that’s a product of amazing teachers and not the Charter school system itself

Yes, she is what the US needs, she is flushing them like a high colonic without the rose water. A purge of the centrists and the right, both are pretty much the same thing.
