It is nothing less than barbaric that the leading cause of bankruptcy in America is medical debt. These people didn't spend all their money on luxury items. Their crime was that they got sick. We are going to cancel all $81 billion in existing past-due medical debt.

Bernie, we are in the hospital, my husband is a veteran, and we were told by the social worker there are NO solutions for his care needs and to start a GoFundMe. This is beyond shameful when even veterans can't get care covered.

Pandering to older Biden voters. Canceling student debt and creating Medicare for all will get to the same place, with a more long-term benefit.

He’s not pandering to anyone. He’s trying to help, everyone. I’m a 36 year old independent, single parent and I have over $10000 in medical debt. To have that canceled would greatly benefit me and my children.

No. You decided to take out a loan to buy something which you own. People don't decide to get sick. This is to ease the suffering of thousands--it's not to line their pockets or pay off debts for luxury items.
