not only is current facial and vocal recognition software extremely biased towards cisgender white men (consistently misidentifying people who are not in that demographic), but it's another brick in the wall of a surveillance state that refuses to address the root causes of crime

Everyone replying doesn't even understand the implications here. He means facial recognition for policing. However, the tech is ALREADY in use to catch criminals. FR for policing is unconstitutional. Cannot surveil for a crime that hasn't been committed.
