Everyone gets unemployed equally by the green new deal

i like to imagine him aware of this, & just types all his tweets while wearing a hazmat suit in front of his computer because it's preferable to acknowledging mass environmental destruction if it's inconvenient to his unwavering political views.

Rethink nuclear energy.
-
If we invest in graphene cabling manufacturing we could build plants outside of populated areas while still supporting the current electrical grid. Removing the "not in my backyard" argument.

Nuclear power plant workers are not our enemy either. And nuclear power plants provide zero-carbon electricity with the lowest material footprint. Extending the life of existing NPPs is the best and most cost-effective way of avoiding carbon emissions. "Listen to science".pic.twitter.com/Bjj7gYxdXZ

Agree. Workers in these dangerous and unhealthy industries deserve better and should be supported into good jobs.
-
With the technology available to us we could help these worker's kids develop ways to eliminate the positions that hurt and killed their parents. Things are and will keep improving.

Those miners and riggers sacrificed a lot so we could power our refrigerators. The least we can do is offer them a cushy retirement.

Not a bad way to look at it, actually.

What will they do? I'll take my answer on the air.

They are going to work at our new $40 trillion factory inventing the new energy
at least that’s what @pocahantis said during debate#maga

Maybe they are not our enemy but they've made it quite clear they are not looking for help from us.

Don't let the loudest voices speak for everyone. We need to help them whether they ask or not. They can refuse the training when it comes down to it if they want. Let the individuals make that decision themselves, but our obligation is to give them the opportunity
-
The green new deal would destroy the opportunity they already chose. Its hard work and training takes years but it pays off. Blue collar workers do very well in the energy industry. This isnt only an attack on their livelihood but entire communites built around the energy sector.
-
We will still need an energy sector. In fact we need a huge energy sector to largely replace fossil fuels. Lots of jobs incl non-physical ones. Lots of physical and managerial infrastructure needed. What if we refused to move into cars to save buggy makers?
-
There's a difference between natural market transitions and forced economic restructuring. The horse and buggy was phased out as cars became cheaper and more efficient means of transportation. The energy sector will transition naturaly when alternative forms are more viable.
-
We don't have time for a natural transition. Both 0bama and Gore bought big houses near the water!
