This West Virginia gal, and granddaughter of a coal miner who died from black lung thanks you for saying that. The coal barons and fossil fuel industry have wreaked havoc on my beautiful state and its people. There's a greener option of jobs that will help so many ppl here.

Awww thanks. My grandpa passed away when I was in Junior High School. He was robbed of watching me graduate high school, getting married, and having his great grandchildren. He was only 70. I miss him everyday. And you're right, I look forward to the implementation of the

Unfortunately no. I think fusion is gonna have to be figured out before anyone actually takes it seriously again. Fission power has a damaged reputation.

Fission is possible if we invest in the proper reactors. Fast Neutron Reactors produce less waste (with half lives of decades instead of millennia), and can even be powered by existing waste from current/past reactors. They are expensive to build and maintain though.

Which is why there has been very little interest, it's too hard to make a profit. Not that essential utilities like power should be operated for profit in the first place (ESPECIALLY nuclear).

Agreed. It's no wonder one of the places seeing the greatest expansion in nuclear is China, I guess.
