Our current health care system isn’t suitable for the richest & most advanced country on earth. My son Nile Alsuwailih committed suicide two months ago on a Wisconsin freeway. He was supposed to be getting treatment for depression but the system let him down.

We're pretty much the only "developed" nation that has a for-profit illness & injury industry. Who wants to gouge a retired, working class diabetic on a fixed income by selling them vials of insulin at over 50 times the cost to produce it, so a CEO can make 10s of million$...?

Essentially, the article summarizes that the older a population gets, the more expansive the Healthcare gets. With less births nowadays, there's less adults growing up to pay taxes into the system. Socialized Healthcare can't keep up. And Finland has 10% of our population.

If we at least do not maintain our population at current rate, there r much bigger issues that we r going to face than just more expensive healthcare. Private insurance will be even ill prepared to handle any of it (like at home/ hospice care, support function for seniors etc)

Inspite of the issues that decreasing population of Finland is causing, their citizens r still vehemently against privatizing any aspect of their healthcare ‘cause they know it’s just going to make it worse
