No. That’s communism. We need real solutions, not impossible promises.

You are so correct! I say to those same people: There is always time if it is important to you. We always find time to do those things that we reallyvwant to do. It can be done.

I hope Daniel is out there right now. We need people like him! We support all the Daniels out there. I’m grateful for his courage to speak up. He deserves better opportunities. We all deserve better! This is OUR America

No person who is willing to work should be homeless, no matter what job they do. Greed is the problem. Low wages paid by employers and skyrocketing rent due to greedy property owners. Either raise the wages or lower the cost of living.

How do we expand and nationalize Community Land Trust programs like the one you started in Burlington and the CVCLT of Vermont?? Rentals keep the poor indebted to the rich. Nonprofit rent-to-own gets the everyman into home ownership, freeing up a good portion of their income.
-
Community land trusts are great! I’ve seen them in action in the Pacific Northwest. The only problem is the small scale of such programs
-
Governments or Affordable Housing Non-Profits could do CLTs on a grand scale. Far more effective than simply subsidizing someone's rent and making the banks and landlords' richer. And smaller. Micro-apartments, tiny houses, etc, are plenty for most families of 3 or less.
-
The CLT I know gave lo & moderate income families the ability to actually purchase homes (the trust owned the land & there were caps on appreciation should you sell). In an area w/ rapidly escalating land values families being priced out of the community could instead buy-in
-
There were also rental properties eventually that they built as well
