There is no rational reason why insulin and other life-saving medications should cost ten times more in the United States than in Canada.

Educate yourself. Type I diabetes is genetic and emerges most often before the age of 25. THAT is the type of diabetes that requires insulin injections. Type II diabetes often triggered by obesity, does NOT always require insulin the way the non lifestyle type I diabetes does.

I.e, insulin is a required medication for a condition. All type I diabetes individuals need this because their body does not produce it, due to NO fault of their own. Even if this wasn’t the case, killing people by extorting them is vile.

Govt of Canada subsidies the cost and takes it as the cost of running the country/govt.

It is not just that.. insulin is an old technology, has been around for decades, is available cheaply in India, Israel, China etc (made there), but costs MANY times more in the US.. US pharma has cozy deal w FDA, Congress.. keeps out competition..
