“School choice“ is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Schools are for fish. The whole idea of warehousing children is evil and needs to be killed.

I agree. But I do think school choice is a substantial improvement for someone forced to go to failing inner city schools.

I agree and I really like her. But the idea of throwing kids in schools is the ultimate triumph in the middle of the progressive movement.

"It's being sold as school choice when really it's taking away from other students." Yeah, because the money that is tied to my kid ought go with them as they leave the extremely under performing public school to their charter (or better yet, private) school where they can learn.

You would think democrats would want charter/private schools because it allows for smaller class sizes; which is a major talking point for them. (Even though Japan and South Korea have way larger class sizes and dominate the US in academics K-12)

Not to mention the US is among the top in per-student funding and yet severely under perform in the global setting.

@BernieSanders I think it’s time we look at public school funding and how it is linked to property taxes. We need to come up with a more equitable approach to public school funding so children can have a good education no matter the neighborhood -
Or we could rename the "defense" budget to what it really is (war budget) & take from it. Just cutting it by 10% would be about what we spent 5 years ago & would add $75 billion to education. We already have the money for everything, the funds are just misappropriated.
