I don't think the purpose of government should be to protect the wealth of the rich and powerful corporations like it does today. I think it should be to support the needs of working people.

This is what i like about your using the term “democratic socialism.” The idea that the government should primarily be for the needs of ordinary people. Not primarily about serving the rich with the rest of us secondary.

The government's job is to protect individual liberty. Not just the 2nd ammendment, but all of our rights. Government is NOT a charity.

Why doesn’t anybody actually tackle tax reform then, with actual experts that will enable the IRS to actually do its job? How many ppl get away with tax fraud because the fed govt doesn’t fund and support the enforcement. Lower income ppl get audited while Corps just lawyer up.
