In the United States it costs, on average, $12,000 to have a baby. In Finland it costs $60. We've got to end the disgrace of our profit-driven health care system and pass Medicare for all.

Well I was clearly simplifying that population was the cause but there are tons of reasons. Twitter just isn’t the mechanism for multi point debate in my opinion

The Fins have 4% poverty. We have 15%. They also don’t pay health insurance premiums, high copays, public utilities are cheaper, cellphone bills are cheaper, college has no tuition, so they don’t have students loans. I may take more home in a paycheck, but I spend more on living.

Finland is not a socialist system. A regulated capitalism does not equal socialism.

Americans think they have regulated capitalism. 😆 Basically Finland is very heavily socialized. What to call it depends on where you grew up. I grew up in the US. I go between Sweden and the US and consider 🇸🇪 to be heavily socialized as well. Definitely prefer it.

They actually aren’t socialized. For instance Norway doesn’t have a minimum wage standard, but they do have worker unions that negotiate wages. Our country works against unions and keeps wages artificially low.
