I do not fully understand the reasons why one would have to register to vote in the first place. Once you meet the criteria (age, nationality, other ... ) you should be automatically added to the voters register. This whole system does not appear democratic to me.

Especially in this day and age when computers track everything. Easy to keep track so people can't vote multiple times.
-
Canada does it. You can show up on Election Day with ID and vote. We also give your the day off to vote.

Or we could A: automatically register everyone and B: vote by mail in all races. No one needs to go anywhere!

THE ONLY PATH TO CHANGE IN OUR COUNTRY IS THROUGH YOUR VOTE ON Nov. 6th. . . Please retweet, register, vote, volunteer, canvas, write post cards, do phone banking, and donate to candidates you support.

Most voters I know are lazy and wouldnt vote even if given the day off.

How do you know what voters would do? You don’t know anything because it has never been done. Please stick to facts not assumptions.

Bernie is such a good guy... These are his ideas he's been saying forever and he doesn't even care about credit. He cares about Americans

Giving people the whole day off is not likely to get many non-voters to vote. They’ll probably just enjoy the day off. Voter engagement needs a culture shift. In Canada citizens get three consecutive hours off work while the polls are open. This gives everyone time to vote.
