Why would you want the government to be in control? Do you not see the massive failures in other public institutions like education?
-
If you can convince doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to start working for 25% of their normal pay, then we can agree on Medicare for all. Otherwise you’ll just bankrupt America.
-
Medical bot! Reported.
-
I like to think my argument is more original than a bot, but you clearly spend more time on Twitter.. so what do I know?
-
Actually your argument isn't. Of course our education system is failing, Republicans keep cutting education spending to make room for more tax cuts for the rich. These are two fundamentally different issues.
-
I’ve worked in healthcare finance for 30 years and his ludicrous generalization about reimbursement made me laugh. Education and healthcare are our two priorities after restoring the constitution.

Come live in Canada for a few years and then tell people the truth. Most of us can’t even find a family doctor. God forbid you need an MRI and don’t go private, you’ll be dead before even seeing the inside of a doctors office.
-
Mr Larin, that is very untrue. I consulted 2 years ago for a blood clot in my arm. On investigation they found might have cancer. The next day I had a biopsy. 2 weeks later I had my diagnosis & was immediately scheduled for surgery. Cancer cured. Healthcare in Canada is awesome.
-
It’s awesome overall but there are so many cracks in the system. So many people fall through the cracks. For every amazing story like yours (god bless btw) there are 100 others where the system fails them.
-
If it's overall great, why are you saying there's only a 1/101 success rate? And I think the only important question is whether it's better than what the US has right now, and it seems obvious to me that for the majority of people, it is.
-
Because people make it sound like it’s perfect. It’s not. And more and more people are moving towards private healthcare and private clinics for service. So many people are bypassing the public system.
-
What the US has now is way worse than "not perfect". Furthermore, if you're saying people are bypassing the public system (saving public funds) while others benefit from it as a safety net, that sounds even more ideal. Something even the US GOP could get on board for.
-
Only up to a point until the balance shifts and tips too far into the private side of the scales. I can’t even count how many people I know that get sent to the US for procedures we don’t have. That’s because of your for-profit system.
-
It is not perfect, that’s why we must keep improving on what we have. But we must continue the fight to keep our system public, and not fall prey to privatization that assigns case priority according to wealth instead of medical necessity. Or to profiteering insurance COs.

This is an outstanding idea since it is already in place and would be an easy transition for Americans.. this should come before a Wall, Spaceforce, Military parade, etc. the American people and our health should come first
-
The Dems are selling it wrong!! They need to do 2 things: A) All businesses would love Medicare for All, because they wont be responsible for their employees health insurance anymore. B) Everyone working is already paying for Medicare but they just can’t utilize it
-
Good point
