"Democratic Socialism: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland - state owned industries, free post-secondary tuition, low unemployment, strong labour rights, childcare and healthcare treated as human rights rather than commodities to be bought and sold in the market." Sounds great! :)
-
If you are 25 years old or older with traumatic brain damage, is that covered in those socialist states? What about rehabilitation? Motorized wheel chairs? You never lived in one of those places, obviously from your comment.
-
First of all, these are not "socialist states", they're Democratic Socialist countries. Please share your experiences of living in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and/or Finland. I live in Canada.
-
I loved 2 years in Norway and 3 in Denmark, I’ve travelled the other countries extensively. Their health care systems are unbelievably worse than the US’s. They treat the masses and not individuals. If you have severe illness/injury you are far better off in the US.
-
Hmmm... can you provide some backup to substantiate your statements? You were a traveller after all, not a resident. Here's one good source that compares Norway and Sweden to Australia, and it mentions the USA as having the highest cost of health care: http://theconversation.com/creating-a-better-health-system-lessons-from-norway-and-sweden-30366 …pic.twitter.com/54X4BOIQNj

I also lived in the Netherlands as a child for 7 years. Their healthcare system is atrocious. Ask the King’s brother. He hit a tree skiing in Austria, didn’t come back to the NL because no hospital would take him. So he went to London and died there a year or two later.
-
Hmmmm... well, until you can provide me with some data sources other than your own typed words here on Twitter, I'll have to go with what I've heard and read from experts on Democratic Socialism.
-
Better yet, go live there for a few years. It’s a nice culture, but you will agree with me on the healthcare system.

then stop trying to sabotage the democratic party again. you know, the party you're not even a member of? except when it's convenient and you want our money.
-
is Bernie less or more aligned with your worldview than Joe Manchin? if you didn’t choose the despicable answer, then lose the line about being (I) or (D) having any bearing on the soundness of ones policy objectives

Yeah my generation is fighting for the right to live a life that doesn’t include taxation at never before seen levels. I have a right to earn a wage, pay minimal taxes, and live out the rest of my years without you panhandling for others to take my savings because its not “fair”
-
I guess the question is, what do you mean by minimal? What do you think you should contribute to and what do you think the money should be used for?

According to the news on climate change, the generation born in 2040 might be known as "The Last Generation".
