I encourage you: Let a love-centered, generationally-influencing FOR be your fuel. Know what you are FOR. Commit to BEING what you are FOR. The FOR determines the focus, the fluidity and the fruit. Against is a response. FOR is a posture.

  4. Emmett Till would be 78 today. His mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, ensured that the world saw how gruesomely her 14 year-old child was murdered. Racism isn’t disagreement. Families grieve. Communities mourn. Dreams wither. Humanity suffers. People perish. Remember Emmett Till.

Racism is not disagreement. It places Black children in a pipeline to prison, demonizes unarmed Black men for ‘being murdered,’ and cages Brown people who are seeking asylum. It is ecomic, systemic and power-hungry. It is beyond time to exorcise this demon out of America.

Dear ‘American Christian’: Christ is not American. Christ didn’t say “Love America.” Christ said “Love your neighbor.” The Christ-definition of neighbor is global and comprehensive. Christ-Love is without walls and beyond borders. There’s a more humane way. Let’s travel it.

How can we love God, who we can’t see, and not love the people we see and inhabit this World House with every day? Love for our neighbors = pure religion.

On this day in 1972, a D.C. newspaper exposed an ongoing syphilis experiment withholding treatment from black men in Alabama to study the effects of the disease. To overcome racial inequality, we must confront our history. Share this

Be careful of being “more devoted to order than to justice,” of being committed to opposing protest, but not to eradicating the injustice that precipitated the protest.

Inspiring human being! All over the world, people are living with and living beyond what would appear to be insurmountable challenges. Will matters. Imagine what we could do to repair our World House if we had the WILL. Let’s build the will.

Thank you, Eunique. I really appreciate you and all the ways you remind us of our historical and present greatness. That’s a ministry to Black people and to others who are lifted and challenged by what you do. Your ministry matters. Be encouraged.

Tonight, BLACK AND MISSING. In 2018 more than 30 percent of all missing persons were Black Americans...despite making up 13 percent of the total U.S. population. We are with families desperately seeking answers about where their loved ones are.
