Spare me journalists who think it's OK to keep boiling animals alive in their own shit for economic reasons and who don't bother checking the basic science.pic.twitter.com/Upn2Lkn4Ao

Among them are, expectedly, Troy Bramston and, sadly, David Crowe.

That David Crowe piece today completely lacked compassion for the sheep (the real victims here!). Some journos are desperate to appear hard-headed, as if acknowledging the appalling animal suffering is a weakness. @phbarratt

Regulate: airconditioning or no live sheep trade. And who knows what happens to sheep survivors after unloading- same or worse than ‘treatment’ of cattle?

As David Crowe is ex-The Australian, I find it difficult to take him seriously. His article today confirmed my initial feelings.

Any reasonable, honest person would not disagree with the AVA. The AVA is a very conservative organisation, so it is extremely important the government take their advice seriously. Turnbull is making an absolute fool of himself he thinks people will believe him.

Best of luck getting politicians to make evidence based decisions. Ideology trumps science every time sadly

Does that mean that trucks need to decant animals travelling in Australia during Summer if temperature get above a set point?? Should humidity be taken as a factor or not? Sheep have access to water on ships but not in trucks? No sheep boiled

Proud Australian tradition of cruelty to animals to put money in yer pocket.
