Impressed by the sheer vindictiveness of the government's $84m cut to the ABC in a budget that's splashing money around like water. The sum makes no difference to the bottom line and may come with a political cost. But it just HAD to attack its enemy.

And the ABC management hung @albericie out to dry in an attempt to stave off budget cuts from a vindictive government. It didn’t work and it was disloyal to her.

Guthrie says she just accepts whatever the budget is and never does any government lobbying. Supported LNP and IPA all the way, and now gets a $84 million cutback. The LNP has played her like a violin.

The ABC shouldn’t be an enemy. That’s the problem. It needs to at least attempt to be impartial.

It is impartial. Every review proves that over and over. There is no other media organisation in this country that has anywhere near as much reviewing of its impartiality anywhere near as often. It makes mistakes, but rarely compared to everything else.

That’s why it’s the enemy! Facts have a liberal bias.

Then we need to get rid of facts. A war on facts. Eliminate all facts and then there can never be any bias ever again!!

Ripening fruit for Murdoch’s “rescue” Fire sale of our ABC. Just as predicted since Guthrie’s instillation. #Disgracfull

Maybe - but the "Liberals" seem to really hate it these days as well. So does Murdoch, precisely because the ABC has made such a competent transition to online. (In fact they must be one of the most successful public agencies [of a sort] to do this. Their success = downfall)

Guthrie completely wrong for ABC. Four Corners alone makes the ABC absolutely essential for Australia. Murdoch has never produced anything of the sort. ABC and it's funding should be kept well away from politicians.
