Unbelievable that Greenies don't see connection. Emissions per capita falling YoY but the left point to absolute emissions rising.

It's absolute emissions that matter. The atmosphere doesn't care how many people they are divided by

Well if you're so concerned about Australia's absolute emissions rising, then limiting immigration is the surest way to reduce our emissions

No but the Paris Agreement does. Which is the framework nations are working within - importing emissions not in Oz interests

In other words the higher emissions are attributable to the #populationponzi that Australia is running. @VoteSustainable

if you want to cut population, who is going to be the workforce when boomers retire?

It's not about cutting the population but stabilising it first. If we can't live in balance economic and social constructs have to change.

living in balance means economic constructs will have to change anyway - modern economies are reliant on exponential growth.

Exactly! The sooner we deal with this reality, the better our long-term quality of life will be and the fewer other species will go extinct.

I agree, though a different kind of economy, one that doesn't grow at 3.5% per annum, is scary for many people including most politicians

It's time to ask why an economy needs to grow at all, it only benefits the 1%. Per capita GDP has been going down due to population growth.
