Pell supports a lot of IPA agenda. I assume many are hardcore catholics... a dieing religion in Australia.

I thought Pell was a member of IPA...
-
I note the implied innocence in wanting to 'clear his name' v give him a fair trial
-
It’s good that George has an opportunity to clear his name via a fair trial.

Only seems silly if you think IPA is purely about economics, not part of the Greater Authoritarian Cheer Squad

Now tell me why crowdfunding Pell's defence & IPA comments are not just as likely to prevent a fair trial any less than negative comments
-
The idea is to create a perception (real or otherwise) that the the cardinal can not get a fair trial.
-
Agreed. He's a sly one this Pell. If that fails, he's bound to have a health "turn"
-
A Skase is on the card. If he pulls that stunt i hope the pope personally gives him last rite himself before putting him on the plane to Oz.

We still believe in innocent until proven guilty in this country, right?
-
Yes. And it is interesting which organisations are willing to breach that to come to his defence.
-
As interesting as those who subscribe to trial by media and have already decided he's guilty?
-
Not quite, that's not what the IPA did. It would be as interesting as any political lobby willing to put money toward the prosecution fund.
-
Read the IPA statement again.
-
So they are just promoting the defence fund, not organising. In that case, it would be as interesting if lobbies promoted prosecution fund.

How come statements like 'give him the opportunity to clear his name' are not prejudicial to a fair trial, but anti-Pell ones are?
