Highest taxing government in the history of Australia - the Howard Government. He was on your side wasn't he? The IMF also accused Howard of "fiscal profligacy" during his final years in office between 2005 and 2007. Memories of #SolidarityForever #Auspol

Mate, I’m the first to say there should have been less spending in that time! #LowerTaxesAhoy Why are you embarrassed we’ll be looking into your policy? Worried those impacted might be bigger than you think?

I was in my-mid 20s and mostly at Uni, and it was pre-Twitter; so you’ll have to trust my sentiments. I didn’t start writing on politics until after the Howard government ...

Ah, Tim, tax to GDP has been higher every year under Abbott/Turnbull/Morrison than it was in any year under Rudd and Gillard. In fact, Morrison's current Budget is the highest since .... Howard's last! #taxandpsendLiberals

This is a very inconvenient truth. Over to you @TimWilsonMP Time to condemn this high taxing Liberal government again. In fact, why don’t you get your Economics committee to investigate their high taxing ways?!?!? #Auspol

But Tim, every single Budget your government has handed down since you were elected has had higher taxes than every single Budget under Labor AND YOU VOTED FOR ALL OF THEM.

Well let's check the budget papers... and... OOPS the Liberals are indeed the big-taxing party of Australian politics. If only they could get tax back down to the levels Labor had it at... but alas it's nearly 2% of GDP higher...pic.twitter.com/h11jkVoObR

My sexuality isn’t a “lifestyle”. And I don’t really care. It’s this strange thing being a true liberal. You actually believe people are free to think and act as they see fit, and even fight enforced conformity

Labor people choose to be bound by Labor rules. Tim, FYI, as a Liberal you are free to vote for whatever you want. Did you realise you were part of a high taxing government? If not, why did your leader, the former Treasurer, put you in charge of the Economics Committee? #Auspol

Tax is now at the highest level in over a decade. Were you (a) bound to vote for this by your high taxing Treasurer Scott Morrison, or (b) of your own free will supported the highest level of tax in over a decade?

My focus is always on helping people. Right now, with a deficit and an ageing society, tax cuts for big business will not help achieve that goal - the reason I joined the Labor Party. The real question is: why are you in the Liberal Party if it is not doing what you believe in?
