And Murdoch behind senate motions on ABC (also to appease Pauline) this week. Has IPA plant Fifield planted in govt as Minister of Communications - how convenient.
-
Murdoch making a welter out having his own sock puppet govt in power..time to burn the media mafia muck to the ground..
-
I'm with you sister! Fundamental reform is vital for the survival of democracy. Media ownership, lobbying & political donations. What value is our vote when politicians are puppets?

Malcolm partly responsible for enabling Murdoch to have way too much power.
-
Really? I think the only way Turnbull could influence Murdoch to use less power was to do his bidding - which gives M all the power. What do you think Turnbull could have done?
-
Are you aware of the recent changes to the media cross ownership legislation? That was supposed to allow Murdoch to seize control of Ten - they screwed the pooch Prior to that there was the Finkelstein inquiry in the wake of the 'news of the world' phone hacking scandal
-
Oh yes, sorry I missed your point about narrowing media ownership. (Blinded by my sense of Murdoch's already considerable power that he uses to contaminate our society...well plural, societies). Cheers.
-
As far as Malcolm changing the media legislation to favour Murdoch, all I can say is that no good deed goes unpunished as far as Turnbull's treatment at the hands of Murdoch goes
-
Totally agree. Zero sympathy for self-serving Turnbull. However, megalomaniacal Murdoch is messing with our democracy (such as it is), and now may gain even greater influence. We're the real losers, I think.

They need to go. Murdoch and his influence needs to go. This country is caught in a loop of stupidity as long as those two organisations remain.

But Bernard, weren’t you just saying the other day that if lefties complain about this stuff, we’re over reacting or engaging in faux outrage or some such patronising put down?

Bring on a commission into the press in Australia. A well functioning democracy relies heavily on a well functioning, informative, impartial press/news/commentary. We have oligarchy.

So he tell Stokes that he'll 'survive' 3 years of Labor. What if he and his empire were to, let's say, not survive?

Such a shame
@AlanJones &@rayhadley2gb can’t see they are just Murdoch’s puppets in the downfall of Turnbull. I am incensed that these “people” have such a control over my & my kids futures. - 1 more reply
