and the Liberals promised a surplus in their first year and every year after that - and then more than doubled the deficit...https://twitter.com/JoshFrydenberg/status/1041133423325151233 …

Labor promised four budget surpluses when it was in government & delivered none. Now, @jechalmers lectures the government, ignoring the fact Labor’s plan would have seen debt hit a trillion dollars. Our strong economic management will see the budget return to balance in 2019-20.

Strong economic management? That may have been the case 25 years ago, but is certainly no more. Can't you blokes even read a balance sheet? You know, the one shows our deficit more than doubled since you lot took over? Do you really think we haven't noticed?

But...but.... tax cuts! Just keep cutting the income stream and put it on debt... :) It will all trickle down in the end :) #fuckednomics

@JoshFrydenberg @JEChalmers So the Treasury has promised 9 surpluses in a row and failed to deliver one of them. Shit record.

It’s not Treaury’s job to deliver surpluses or deficits. They just advise the minister. It is govt policy that delivers surpluses or deficits. They’re free to ignore Treasury.

Howard sold just about everything - Telstra, Commonwealth bank & QANTAS - built the libs (undeserved) reputation as good managers of the economy - no more silverware to sell these days... but they encourage state govt. to 'recycle' infrastructure so cronies can still profit
