        Yes the drought is obscene (and I'm living right in the middle of it) but what is more obscene is the failure of every damn report/pollie not to link it back to #climatechange Why is the cost of the drought not being tallied as the cost of #CC #auspol

        Giving 60 councils $1m for "stuff" is appalling. It is highly likely each could produce a credible list for at least 10x that amount just to catch up on infrastructure repairs needed after years of state & federal Govt neglect. 1/2

        It may yet become increasingly obscene - there is no sign of the drought breaking, drought may become the norm with rainfall becoming the exception. Then the deforestation and unsustainable farming practices will come into sharp focus.

        That level of funding would also create jobs for farmers like a program rolled out in Victoria during the millennial drought that had massively positive results for the community, local infrastructure and the mental health of those communities. Carpe Diem.
