Well stated. Once believed that “those who have nothing to hide, hide nothing” until the corp, both public and private began to ask for uneccesary and unneeded personal information.

Those who have nothing to hide being controlled by those who are constantly discovered having a great deal to hide. Corporations & neoliberals, too stupid too see the danger. Cases in point. Banks, governments. Do we really need to further empower the powerful who neglect us?

We are torn. Many of us want to be known. Desperately. The desire for fame is one manifestation. On a more private level we want to be able to be ourselves and reveal ourselves shamelessly. But that is risky. We don’t want to be exploited. We share, then we pull back.
