        I am concerned my records will be released to the press if I publicly disagree with government policy (as happened to a Centrelink client). LNP are responsible for people choosing to opt out of what was a very good idea.

        That's... not the compact between the government and the public. From speaking to refugees from countries with totalitarian regimes, privacy is a cornerstone of a functioning democracy. Literally the opposite of this person's opinion.
