The mass opt-out of #MyHealthRecord demonstrates the Turnbull Syndrome - where malice and ideology combine with incompetence to destroy trust in governmenthttps://www.crikey.com.au/2018/07/17/the-turnbull-syndrome-why-we-cant-trust-our-governments-any-more/ …

@JohnWren1950 @independentaus My local conservative GP advised me to opt out today on the basis that you simply cannot trust the LNP or any government with such super sensitive personal information. No ifs or buts simple competency & trust. I opted out

My GP told me that my decision not to agree to the initial invitation to put my details online was a good one. She doesn't need to give me the nod to opt out of this current scheme.

Indeed the contempt that this Govt displays to anyone other than a devotee or benefactor is the singular worse thing about them.

I said earlier that I was a big supporter of #MyHealthRecord, but when I realised ATO could access I’ll opt out. I’m a classic example of someone who has lost that trust. It was OK until revenue folk were involved. Can’t think why they *need* access to anyone’s #MyHealthRecord.

Yep, would you trust this corrupt LNP regime with your private medical info, I wouldn't. Next thing you know it will be used to "screen" out ppl who the corrupt LNP think are too expensive to keep alive. Far fetched you may think, on the cards I think. They have form.

Possibly, but then again so many things have happened under this corrupt LNP regime that I thought would never be tolerated by the Australian ppl, in the last 5 years, so I don't believe this is far fetched, although others may.

it is a myth that we are not already in a dystopia homelessness i notice it nearly every day, go to a third world country and it will be self evident heck even parts of NSW have shocking lovinf conditions. people are too busy affording gas and rent to worry about other matters.

I’m a big believer in #digital (it should be the way we do things), but this is badly designed and way behind in where society is at (see Europe #GDRP with opp-in for things, not giving access to anyone, etc). Also no Trust left after gov abused the trust in #centerlink, etc.

I question the validity of polls. How they're framed/constructed and conducted. Phone or online? Who is most likely to participate/engage? That being said, many still seem impressed by and aspire to material wealth and power regardless of how it's been acquired.

All part of the plan I wonder? What better way to achieve "small government" than to create a government that can't be relied upon for anything, so the people instead turn to business to provide services?

Right on Mr Keane. "Malice and incompetence" order of the Turnbull era day. Hearing stories every day, from well heeled dementia patients families, to workers out into short term contracts, 17yr olds locked up without charge. Family men taken at night and sent back to dictators.
