    He also calculated that by careful choice of a spacecraft’s flyby point past a planet, the planet’s gravity could help make further flybys. This enabled NASA’s Mariner 10 to achieve 3 instead of 1 by using a flyby of Venus to change the spacecraft’s flight path 👍
