Tom's Take YouTube channel where he explains a lot of the behind the scenes decision making and had actual algorithm directors on. In various responses on social and etc. They purposefully obfuscate info for usually good reasons but they don't usually directly lie.
“for good reasons” i.e. make you buy ads, all social media giants are the same, Twitch is the only one doing good things by small channels

If they explain the specifics behind what does and doesn't do well people can easily game the system and cheat. They used to be more transparent and it got abused. Makes perfect sense IMO.

Twitch honestly doesn't do all that much more. They communicate better and people haven't become cynical yet because it feels rebellious and exciting and new. It'll pass. Issues are already popping up this year.

About a drastic shift in both how YouTube handled homepage and transparency. Same happened with view count explanations, video categories when they still meant something, first version of tags, etc.
