Harris went all-in on M4A, then realized she was uncomfortable defending its features, took serious hits for her confusing messaging around it, then abandoned the bill for a still-super-left alternative that she got zero credit for.https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/does-medicare-all-end-private-insurance-depends-which-candidate-you-n1005071 …

Then there's the long list of candidates who supported or co-sponsored(!) M4A and then ran away from it the second they announced. Beto O'Rourke, Cory Booker, Tim Ryan, Eric Swalwell. They clearly reached the same conclusion, just earlier.

The good news for the left is rigid devotion to the Sanders bill made every public option alternative get coded as moderate, even though they ranged from minor fixes to radical overhauls close to M4A. Arch-moderate John Delaney practically was running on Canadian health care.

Warren had support on M4A until she started equivocating and backing away from it. Everyone misses this narrative. Same with Pete. Did better when embracing it, as he started equivocating, it cost him. You see this over and over.

Another article totally ignoring the media's role in this. Media sexism, which you all refuse to call out, played a huge role here, and it wasn't just about M4A.
