Since you hooked up a web-based frontend have you considered using WebUSB for these kinds of projects?

I did think about it, The thing is that my final driver will work for as long as libusb works. Giving libusb has been going for a long time I trust it to stick around longer than WebUSB. No point writing it in WebUSB only for it to reach EOL in 5 years and to be back at square 1

We used to have a couple of this unit in our recent AV system. But the last OS running drivers without issues was
#WindowsXP. We have tried Windows 7 and 10 without the luck. Epiphan's support wasn't willing to help us. - Još 1 odgovor

I was already astonished by your Gopher+Win98 detour, you're crazy and wildly talented! I've thought of reversing QNAP HDD hot swap enclosure USB comms b/c they don't provide SMART data on Linux - you can access that on Windows via their app though.Thx, your writeup will help me!
