It'll be nice to have a decent reason to get a VR headset. Too bad the PC needed to run this is going to have to be expensive as well.
I've been hearing rumblings that since the announcement of Half-Life Alyx VR headsets have seen a significant spike in sales I ordered a Oculus Quest 2 days ago and it hasnt even shipped yet. I think second hand PCs would be a good avenue for those who have to buy the whole rig and want to spare some money. I've seen great deals on i7 6th and 7th gen with 1080ti's. Half the original price, and it's recommended specs for HLA.

Well, people have said everything from you don't have controllers in VR to there isn't 3D object oriented sound or that it's just a fad and offers nothing on old school gaming. Not everyone has to like VR after they have tried a wireless set, but no need to make stuff up.

Also, personally I think the next generation is going to be "balls to the wall", with a next gen PSVR2 and also Oculus Quest 2. It's going to be wild.

Multiple factors here though HL did generate a lot of media coverage. Oculus “Reality” ad campaign kicked off. Black Friday sales and bundles. Stormlands, Asgard’s Wrath, and link cable support launched recently. Continuous flow of new games on Quest.
