All you have to do is google Rushan Abbas' name and the first result is her bio detailing extensive work with numerous US gov. institutions, including work directly for Bush, and her support for his fake "war on terror" Democracy Now did not disclose thishttps://www.isi-consultants.com/rushan-abbas/

@DemocracyNow guest Rushan Abbas worked for the Pentagon in its illegal Guantánamo prison camp on occupied Cuban territory, she spent years working for the US government's anti-China propaganda arm Radio Free Asia, helping expand its Uighur coverage https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB124943066488606293 …pic.twitter.com/roKNPwGmuc

@DemocracyNow guest Rushan Abbas is also lobbying the far-right, racist, virulently anti-Muslim Trump administration to take "action" against and "punish" China, with sanctions and other means based on the Magnitsky Acthttps://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/14/world/asia/congress-uighurs-china-detention.html …Show this thread -

@DemocracyNow/@NermeenDN failed to disclose that their guest Rushan Abbas also worked for the US government-funded anti-China propaganda outlet Radio Free Asia, which even the NY Times described as part of a "Worldwide Propaganda Network Built by the CIA"https://www.nytimes.com/1977/12/26/archives/worldwide-propaganda-network-built-by-the-cia-a-worldwide-network.html …Show this thread -
In her
@DemocracyNow interview, Rushan Abbas cited "reports" on Uyghurs from the US government's anti-China propaganda arm Radio Free Asia, which she worked for (although DN did not disclose that). Here's the NYT describing the history of the CIA's Radio Free Asia back in 1977:pic.twitter.com/hVZB223MCE

Radio Free Asia is funded by the US Agency for Global Media (formerly BBG), the explicit purpose of which is "advancing the goals of United States foreign policy," and always being "consistent with the broad foreign policy objectives of the United States" https://www.bbg.gov/networks/rfa/ pic.twitter.com/n7bPkRr8Ov

I am sorry but
@democracynow is a mechanism of disinformation directed to the US "left". I have seen their bias agenda promoting the so called "left" from Nicaragua (the ones that are in talks and supported by Rubio, Ileana Ros-Letienen and many more radical republicans) -
They are like another
@guardian. Full of the same. Both highly unreliable and with a dark agenda. No respect for them. It's hard but you get to know them just when you have seen reality and you get "surprised" by their obscure and weird agendas and lies

Ben do you think the accusation of China’s “internment camps” against Uyghurs and supporting evidence is anti-China propaganda?
-
How well do you think that the accusation is substantiated by media report and official intelligence?
-
The western media reports have been opportunistic and leaned into the sensational, often claiming the unsubstantiated '1 million' figure. From multiple credible sources, it's not as bad as it's being portrayed, and certainly not wonderful as China state media would have you think
-
Can you give me links to some articles?
-
I agree that when it comes to accusing the “official enemies”, there is every incentive for reporters and witnesses to maximize reports and testimonies without verification, while simultaneously minimizing “our crimes.”
-
And thus we need to be extremely careful and prudent when we analyze and evaluate given evidence.
-
And of course, Chinese state sources are not reliable. The CCP did commit major atrocities in past, like the Tiananmen massacre and the Cultural Revolution, and it is certainly capable to commit the alleged atrocity.
-
I really hope there’s a neutral, international body that will thoroughly investigate the situation.
