A wee squiz at the rest of his replies, and we have here what the kids these days might probably call a sea lion.pic.twitter.com/oGDuBk5Woa
I think one of the virtues of this website, for want of a more nuanced word, is the perhaps unintended insight we receive into the minds at work in the media we consume.pic.twitter.com/TdbBKDZDjH
I say from the outset there are numerous examples available, covering every political persuasion and hue. But as we are in the midst of Australia/Invasion Day chatter, this is the example at hand.
Daily Mail published an Australia Day article featuring a number of colourful images. This image caught my eye, for reasons.pic.twitter.com/59bsk22nMj
Perhaps 3 out of 5 (60%) people in a photo making an openly white supremacist symbol is hard to spot, who know.pic.twitter.com/M2DmjSK81m
Perhaps you have no historic awareness of the wearing of flags as capes in such Cronulla riots as...pic.twitter.com/VXOcbd43hI

DM did also cover Invasion Day protests, although its readers were not amused.pic.twitter.com/WRS9Ry1vNc
Not every person in the media is personally responsible for everything produced by their outlet. But I do think it's often possible and helpful to trace overarching methods and approaches, ethical frameworks and values, in understanding how certain topics are ultimately framed.
Perhaps these chaps are just garden-variety muppets, but maybe one is the next P Galea or the other guy. Either way, mainstream media normalising white supremacism - especially in the wake of Christchurch - is not a neutral thing to do.http://theage.com.au/national/victoria/melbourne-right-wing-extremist-guilty-of-plotting-terror-attack-20191205-p53h4b.html …
Meanwhile, in parallel, our white-supremacists-in-chief are lightly laundered on the reg by the lumpencommentariat.https://twitter.com/slackbastard/status/1221987812028735489 …
I will pay the ingenuity of co-opting this particular hand gesture - you can make your knowingly sly little nod to the supremacist like-minded while accusing anyone who pulls it up of "making it more than it actually is".pic.twitter.com/NmM8Hlay5A
