@BenedictEvans sacrificing the PC for the iPad...

@monkbent it's a really startling screwup -
@BenedictEvans I don’t think it’s a screwup. They want full compatibility between iPad and Mac - View other replies

@monkbent@BenedictEvans Apparently even at the cost of losing features from the Mac versions, which I find rather shocking. - View other replies

@fraserspeirs@BenedictEvans did you guys see this at DF? http://fireballed.org/linked/2013/10/23/iwork-applescript/ … Same thing. -
@monkbent@fraserspeirs stripping out applescript is not quite the same as killing a basic chart feature for no reason. I vote bug. - View other replies

@BenedictEvans@monkbent It’s odd to take out features that once existed. I wonder how much of a re-write this version was? Seems like it. -
@fraserspeirs@BenedictEvans I’ve heard (unreliably) it was a very major one indeed - Show more

@BenedictEvans a rewrite casualty? Likely come back next rev… Let me know the chart you need, and we'll look into putting in@pixxa. -
@BenedictEvans it’ll be available as an in-app purchase. -
@BenedictEvans Certainly, but that also puts Microsoft in a box, unable to come up with a touch optimized version of Office. -
@BenedictEvans The more I look at new Numbers, the more I like Excel (I'm not a pro user; used Numbers before). -
@BenedictEvans and I have just read that AppleScript support is also gone. Massive step backwards. Typical ‘Apple knows best’ Grrrrr -
@BenedictEvans new iWork killed several features. Meta data properties and ‘bookmarks’ (links within a document) as well.
