Biden just said "no new fracking" but it's impossible to immediately understand whether he's simply referring to his existing pledges about federal lands, or making some kind of new pledge. #ClimateChange #DemDebate2020

No new fracking means no new natural gas projects, period. That's not in his plan is it?

Natural gas CAN be produced without fracking - probably not as much.

Worth mentioning that during the Obama administration, the State Department was promoting fracking technology abroad. And there was still a lot of fracking on Fed lands, but admittedly not as much as during the Bush admin - maybe because of decline in nat gas price.

The atmosphere doesn’t care whether the carbon and methane came from a well on public lands or in your neighbor’s back yard. Banning fracking everywhere is the only sensible way to address our climate emergency.

It’s impossible to ban all O&G drilling. We don’t have the infrastructure to pull that off for another 10 yrs minimum (while losing billions to Middle East). The gradual move from coal to natural gas while implementing carbon-neutral oil eventually is the right move.

@LFFriedman Biden sounds saying things he does not indeed believe. No new fracking pledge was like a reactive answer.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble but as the Supreme Court careens to a fascist right and RBG hangs by a thread while women's reproductive rights are under full assault and children are in cages, this is NOT my definitive issue of the race!!!
