This is Ana Paula Henkel, 4 x Olympian and female volleyball legend. She was tested regularly, and at any time, for testosterone for 16 years. If her result had been over 5nM *on one single day* she would be banned for unfair advantage. Standard female T level is 0.3 - 2.1nMpic.twitter.com/JBn6OmXJuL

This is Tiffany Abreu, a male transgender volleyball player. Tiffany now has to have T levels below 10nM to compete but, prior to transition, spent approx. *5000 DAYS* with male T levels (range is 11 - 41nM). This, apparently, does not count as unfair advantagepic.twitter.com/eCrS73wOcY

So if you are female it is against the rules to have high T levels for a single day in the past. If you are male, it is within the rules to have a male puberty and high testosterone for OVER A FUCKING DECADE!! This is absurd. Are we supposed to think this is fair?

If you look at this and think it’s fair then you are a) an idiot b) insane c) have a very troubling attitude towards women or d) all of the above and may be called Rachel. This is not fair, it is RIDICULOUS and anyone with two brain cells to rub together can see that

Changes in puberty from elevated testosterone affect the size, length and density of bones, pelvic shape, muscle mass and composition, ligaments and tendons, heart size, lung size, hand and foot size, grip strength etc etc

You need to prove that ALL these advantages are removed. Prove up to 4x of T is no advantage. Prove male pelvic shape is no advantage. Prove change in CV characteristics after transition. Prove the number of myonuclei in male muscle provide no advantage retraining. Prove it.

It is obvious to everyone that male puberty gives huge sporting advantage. Also obvious to *almost* everyone is these benefits don’t all go way simply from reducing T. If you suggest they do, it’s on you to prove that. Until then, get out of women’s sport

Otago University physiology professor Alison Heather says that international sporting regulation bodies such as the IOC have rushed decisions regarding transgender athletes competing in female categories, as there has been insufficient researchhttps://i.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/99434993/professor-of-physiology-says-trans-athlete-has-advantage-in-speed-and-power …

"Heather said there has been only one study of eight non-elite recreational runners who had transitioned from male to female, and their performance times were very similar. She said it was unfair to base restrictions and regulations on one study."

IOC rule maker Dr Eric Vilian acknowledges that "the concept of anatomical equality for transgender athletes was simply not feasible" "The goal is to create a pathway to include the transgender athlete, not create total equality."https://www.velonews.com/2018/10/news/commentary-the-complicated-case-of-transgender-cyclist-dr-rachel-mckinnon_480285 …

If the goal is simply "a pathway to include transgender athletes, not create equality" then there is a very simple solution: All transgender athletes regardless of presentation compete against Men. Women's sports are protected. Trans athletes get to compete. Everybody's happy 💥
