Come on-have some respect. Agree or disagree with him, McCain is an American hero and has cancer. Somethings are still above politics.

I have the utmost respect for a bona fide war hero that has been shit on by the President for being captured. Where was the respect then?

Perhaps I am being misunderstood-I am defending McCain. Not Ben Sasse. Ben is the knockoff version of McCain-he doesn't stand up to Trump

I never meant disrespect to McCain. But Trump himself said McCain was a "Crusty voice...and we need his vote." And @BenSasse followed up.

People call it a liberal hit piece. Maybe so. But @BenSasse is playing the long game. Career politician with that sweet, sweet Medical plan.

@BenSasse is proof that you can be smart and folksy, but still beholden to nefarious interests and greed.

As a 12yrold I met @SenJohnMcCain on the campaign trail in 2000. Told him I read his book, he told me to read my textbooks instead.

Just broke the news to my pops, USMC Vietnam vet 68-70. He shook his head and said "my hero". We're all lucky @SenJohnMcCain is a tough SOB
