When it’s good, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is excellent. But the throwaway racist and homophobic language nearly sours its first half.

Yes, people love Martin McDonagh for his caustic humour - me included. But a few scenes in this didn’t earn or justify certain words for me. Shame, some of it is so damn soulful.

I heard disappointing reports along this line too, it seems so unnecessary. Ladybird, however, I can totally recommend!
Thanks for the warning. That would make a movie a lot less enjoyable for me too. And hey, I'm from Missouri, so I know you don't have to have that stuff to be "authentic."
